What initially sparked your interest in Even Realities and the concept of everyday display smart glasses?

My days are a juggling act so I wanted a second screen I could wear—something discreet that lets me keep bullet points, timers, and key prompts in view without breaking eye contact. Even G1 stood out because it blends into real life: normal-looking frames, useful glanceable info, and teleprompting without a tablet or phone in my hands. As a longtime glasses-wearer, the idea of turning corrective lenses into a productivity surface was irresistible.

As a longtime glasses-wearer, how does Even G1 perform as corrective lenses?

In short, like proper everyday glasses. My prescription is spot-on, clarity is crisp edge-to-edge, and I haven’t had eyestrain or weird color cast issues. They’re comfortable for long sessions (calls, editing, coding), and I don’t feel like I’m compromising on optical quality to get the smart features.

As someone who juggles multiple pursuits, how has the Even G1 integrated into your daily workflow?

I use them as a quiet co-pilot. During stand-ups and client calls, I keep 3–5 bullet points in view so I'm concise. When I'm coding or reviewing PRs, I'll pin a short checklist (test cases to verify, edge cases to probe). In finance mode, I keep quick metrics or filming outlines for Monday Slayer. It keeps me focused without context switching or screen clutter.

Does it improve your delivery and give you added confidence as a content creator?

Massively. Teleprompt keeps my intros tight and my outros clean, while maintaining eye contact with the lens. Dashboard is perfect for shot lists, time-to-next-cut, and quick reminders (B-roll angles, call-to-action notes). I’m more confident on camera because I'm never searching for words or breaking flow to check notes. It's like having a producer in your ear—quietly giving you direction.

In what ways has it changed the way you approach your day job as a software engineer?

Two big wins:
- Review discipline—I keep a lightweight "don't-forget" rubric when reviewing PRs including security, tests, performance, logging.
- Meeting signal—Clear bullets for design discussions, so I can drive faster decisions. I also like quick timers for focus sprints and a tiny "next action" card, so I don't drown in tabs.

Wearing Even G1 at your wedding is a clever move. How'd you use them to enhance the big day?

Unforgettable. I kept QuickNote tiny cue cards with short lines and pacing reminders in QuickNote so I could stay present with my wife and our guests instead of staring at paper. I also had a subtle "breathe + smile" prompt and a micro-timeline so I didn't rush the moment. Most people didn't notice they were smart glasses; the few who did just thought they looked great and asked me about them afterward.

Describe the design and comfort.

They look stylish, modern frames—nothing "techy" screaming from across the room. The fit is balanced—the nose pads don't pinch, and the temples sit comfortably even with headphones. On a typical weekday I'll wear them 8+ hours without discomfort, which is ideal since I need them for correcting my vision.

Has it opened up new avenues for connecting with fellow professionals and entrepreneurs?

Absolutely. In Great Zürich's fintech/crypto circles and at startup meetups, they're a great icebreaker—after people realize they aren't just regular frames. It has led to conversations with founders, PMs, and investors about workflow, pitching, and public speaking. For me, they're both a tool and a subtle personal brand signal: "prepared, calm, present."
